(!J}bituary
Gladys Davidson-McCord was born February 17, 1918 to the late Whit Davidson and Susie Sherman-Davidson in West Point, Georgia.
Gladys married the late Charlie Howard McCord. To this union she became the proud mother of three children: (son) Charlie Howard McCord, Jr. and (daughter) Frances Lee McCord-Shanks. One child preceded her in death: (daughter) Gladys McCord-White.
Gladys was one of twelve siblings. She has one surviving sister, Katie Mae Copeland. Ten of her siblings preceded her in death: (three brothers) Joe, Burell, and George; (seven sisters) Lottie Pearl, Susie Mae, Martha, Mary, Alene, Lizzy, and Leola.
Gladys loved the Lord with all her heart. She touched many lives during her lifetime with her graceful smile and warm personality. She brought laughter to everyone she met. She always found the good in everyone. No one was a stranger. She welcomed everyone into her heart. She always had encouraging words to say.
Gladys, "Momo", "Mae Ella" will be missed by all. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish memory: (daughter) Frances Lee McCord-Shanks and (son) Charlie Howard McCord, Jr.; (grandchildren) Gregory McCord, Donald McCord, Marilyn McCord, Pamela McCord, Cherilyn McCord, Derrick White Sr., Reginald & (Shante') White, Rodney & (Yolanda) Shanks and Rosalind & (Marcus) Shanks-Richmond; one grandchild, Timothy McCord, preceded her in death; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Sleep on dear one, and take your rest, We love you, but God loves you best.
The Family Don't Don 't spend too much time mourning... tears are for the sad. I left to be with Jesus and this should make you glad. Don 't waste your time grieving, no need to feel distress. I was tried oflife 's frustration and had to get some rest. Don 't vex yourselfwith questions or try to reason why. Earthly life for me has ended; it came my time to die. Don 't lose the love I gave you, feed it with your care, grow it with devotion and spread it everywhere. Don 't fret because my leaving, came in such a way, we will have another meeting in God's eternal day.
