Jessie Lee Wooten Mathis, the youngest of eight children, born to the late Jimmie Lee AND Pearl Wooten in Henry County, Georgia on December 17, 1930. She departed this life on June 17, 2003 .
Jessie Lee attended school at Freeman Chapel in Henry County. She joined the church at an early age and later united with Shiloh Baptist Church in College Park, Georgia.
She joined in Holy matrimony to Zonnie Lee Jones, and married Israel Mathis and shared many happy years together.
Jessie Lee's son, Zonnie Lee Jones, Jr. preceded her in death. She leaves loving memories to her husband, Israel Mathis; her daughter, Brenda Jones Mills; her mother, Mary Frances Thomas; three sisters, Pearlie Harris, Miriam Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Price (Mattie Frances) and Elaine Duffy; one sister-inlaw, Mary Carswell; two brothers, Willie George and George Thomas, Jr. ; jive grandchildren, LaTonya Hicks, Katrina Hicks, Albert Mill, II, Marilynn Jones and Zonnie Jones, II; four greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Don't grieve for me, for l 'mfree. l 'mfollowing the path God laid for me. 1 took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
1 could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Task left undone must stay that ay,
. . a'(fiat peace at the close ofthe day.
Ifmy parting has left a void.
Th en fill it with remembered joy. A friends hip shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things 1 too will miss.
Be not burdened with times ofsorrow, I wish you sunshine oftomorrow.
My life's been fu ll1 've savored much, Good f riends, good times, a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don 't lengthen it now with undue grief Life up your heart and share with me
