When I am gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do, You must not tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness, I thank you for the love you each have
shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must,
You were there to put a smile to each
frown When growing up got us down You were there, our joys to share Always there with love and care
People may say that now you're gone with memories of your love to carry us on
But Gramps you know, that we know
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
better
It is only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart ... I will not be far away, for life goes on,
1 Because you are there, so much more
I than eve1~.
Now you can be with us at all times
So if you need me, call and I will come,
and this is a thought we'll keep in our
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will minds
be near,
Stay near us, keep us in sight
And if you listen with your heart you will Cause we still need you, each day, each
hear
night
All my ~ove around you soft and clear.
We loved you then and we stiU do
Then when you must come this way alone This is our pledge of love to you.
I will greet you with a smile and a "Welcome
Your Graruichildre.n
Home"

MINNIE MAE MARSHALL was born August 24, 1902, in .tvferrietta County, Georgia; one of fourteen born out of the union of Clara Huff and Thomas Sutton.
Gramps, Katie, as she was affectionately known, was educated in the public school system in Woodbury, Georgia.
Minnie met and married the late Jesse Marshall in Woodbury, Georgia and later they relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1923. From this union four wonderful children were born: Ophelia Jackson, Grant Marshall, the late Jessie Knowles and the late Clara Bailey.
At an earlv age, she became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of \Xloodbury, Georgia. When she relocated to Philadelphia, she became a member of Tasker Street Baptist Church in South Philadelphia. In 1952, she moved her membership to Zion A.M.E. Church where she remained until her passing.
Minnie Mae worked in the clothing industry with ladies garments tor twenty, six years. Due to illness, she became a homemaker, caring for the children of family and friends.
Minnie was a real Christian woman. She walked the walk and talked the talk. She always sa\v the goodness in a person and treated everyone the same. Although she had four children of her own to feed during the depression, she always had enough to feed someone else in need. Every holiday was a blessed occasion at her home for the family always gathered to enjoy her delicious meals that she loved to prepare.
She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved and was loved by everyone. She will be missed.
On Friday, October 16, 1998, the Lord called His servant home to rest, leaving behind to cherish her precious memories: one daughter, Ophelia Jackson; one son, Grant Marshall; six grandchildren, Liston Knowles, LeRoy Jackson, Diane Bonner, Denise Stevens, Tawana Marshall and Candice Marshall; seven great, grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren ; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Morrison; two sisters,in,law, Nell Sutton of Philadelphia and Fannie Sutton of Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We saw her fading life a flower, but we could not make her stay God saw fit to call her and she had to go away.
She knew the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb So He gently closed her eyes and whispered, "Peace Be Thine"
