He attended Carver Vocational High School and later took a job as supervisor with the City of Atlanta. In later life he was called into the ministry and became pastor of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was later called to serve as pastor at New Hampton Baptist Church. He continued pastoring and became founder of the New Love Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, the late Mr. Abe Marshall, Jr. He departed this life on September 7, 1991 and leaves to mourn his passing, son, Demorio Marshall, daughter, Shenikka Marshall, granddaughter, Kiara Marshall; mother, Mrs. Rosa Marshall; brother, Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall (Pamela); four sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fillmore (Doris), Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Perry (Fannie), Miss Quennie Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bush (Allene); godmother, Mrs. Irma Jean McGhee; three uncles, four aunts, two nephews, eight nieces, a host of grandnephews, grandnieces, sister-in-law, Mrs. Louise Marshall; numerous cousins and friends.
Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace, where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. 0 Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to
