Lovell Magee (POPPA) was the first born on June 18, 1940 to Eary and Agus Magee in Franklinton, Louisiana where he attended and graduated from Washington Parish High School. He later moved to Newark, NJ. He served as a dynamic, hardworking bus operator for 30 years with New Jersey Transit Bus Company after retirement he and wife relocated to Stone Mountain, Ga. The Magee family made their home at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church located in Norcross, GA. You would think that "retirement" for Lovell would include relaxing and watching some television however that was far from the case. He never sat still. He was a very active member of his community Hidden Hills. He was an officer on the Hidden Hills Association Security Board, and a member of the Hidden Hills Senior Citizen Group. His activities ranged from bowling, to vacations, and annual trips to New Jersey. Lovell was a devoted husband to his wife Darlene Magee for 40 years, a loving father, and a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather. He was a strong man of God that worked silently and diligently in the house of God. Lovell was never a man of many words but when he did speak everyone around him listened because he was a very wise man . He leaves behind a host of friends because he never met a stranger and always was willing to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Darlene Magee, his sister Marva Daughtrey, his children: Cedric, Gwendolyn, Tavonja (Dwayne), Bridgette, Tina (Kevie), Parish, and Derrick (Syreeia) his 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Lovell's journey home was preceded by His father Agus Magee, mother Eary , Magee, brother Connie Magee, his first wife Charlene Ma and eldest son Elliot Dwayne Magee. Lovell had many wi quotes that he loved to say to us but his favorite was: "Never say goodbye because goodbyes are forever so just say so long". So we say "So long" Lovell until we see you agam.
