Don'tgrieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laidfor me. I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and lift it all. I could not stqy another dqy,
To laugh, to love, to work, to plqy. Tasks lift undone must stqy that wqy,
I've found thatpeace at the dose rif the dqy. Ifmy parting has lift a void,
Then fill it with remembered;"oy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ahyes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times ofsorrow,
I wishyou the sunshine rif tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lzft upyour heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

William Patrick Maddox, was born on February 19, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy (Geneva Williams) Maddox and was reared in the City of Decatur. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday, November 14, 2014.
William was educated in the City Schools of Decatur. At an early age, he joined the Thankful Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend W. Leon Tucker. He entered the United States Army in 1973 and served his country well both in the United States and abroad.
He worked as a roofer for Southeast Building and Maintenance for many years. However, his favorite and proudest occupation was working as a long distant truck driver for Conklin Trucking driving cross country for many years until his health began to fail as a result of bronchial asthma causing an early retirement.
William was preceded in death by his mother and father and an older brother, Joseph E. Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Cynthia B. (Bay) Houston, Patricia B. (Tad) Perkins, and Sallie Wallace (Lester); one brother, Gregory Maddox (Bernice); one sister-in-law, Brenda H. Brown; one aunt, Dorothy W. Scott; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special friend, Jeanette (Candy) Hill.
