Obituary
Our beloved Mr. Bobby Sylvester .Maddox was born in Newton County, Georgia on January 20, 1937 to the late Ms. Daisy Maddox and the late Mr. William Norris. One brother, Eddie Norris, preceded him in death. Hewas also preceded in death by two infant granddaughters: Bridgett Maddox and Sharita Williams. Bobby, affectionately called "Fox", was raised and educated in Newton County. During his early years, Bobby worked as a truck driver. Later he worked for Covington Veterinary Clinic for approximately 30 years, until his retirement in 2002. At an early age, Bobby joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Newborn. In 1955 he married Corine Avery. He was the proud father of eleven children, all of whom he loved dearly. A very cheerful and loving person, Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. During his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his children and with his friends in the Bentley Sportsman Social Club (where he was an active
member) . On December 17, 2011, Bobby was called home. He leaves a
legacy of love to his six daughters: Mr. & Mrs. Alton (Ruby) Carswell of Gordon, GA , Ms. Cornelia Maddox, Ms. Barbara Maddox, Mr. & Mrs. Billy (Teresa) Williams, Mrs. Frances Goodwin, Ms. Ann Key, an of Covington; his five sons: Mr. Sylvester Maddox. Mr. Robert Key, Mr. & Mrs. Timothy (Barbara) Key, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby (Tannette) Maddox and Mr. Eric Maddox, all of Covington; a sister: Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Emma) Cobb; a brother: Mr. & Mrs. James (Annie Ruth) Norris; a sister-in-law: Mrs. Majoria Norris;,two god mothers: Mrs. Ellen Wright and Mrs. Cora Mitchell; special friend: Bernadine Hodnett. Bobby is also survived by 35 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and numerous dear friends.
