rlie .Lowe 'Famifj;
I Have A Place In Heaven Please don't sing sad songs for me,
Forget your grief and fears, For I am in a perfect place, Away from pain and tears ... I'm far away from hunger And hurt and want and pride.
I have a place in Heaven With the Master at my side . My life on earth was very good,
As earthly lives can go, But paradise is so much more
Than anyone can know ... My heart is filled with happiness
And sweet rejoicing too. To walk with God is perfect peace,
A joy forever new.

Obituary

y. J r. , !Edc{/e .Lowe

84, of College Park, Georgia, departed this life on Monday, July 27, 2015 . He was born

September 5, 1930 in Terrell County, Georgia to the late Blossie Carolyn (Iverson) and Eddie G. Lowe, Sr. Eddie Jr. was an only child, and he grew up surrounded by cousins in the small town of Dawson Georgia . Eddie first accepted Jesus Christ as a youth at Sardis Baptist Church, and as a young adult he joined a Methodist church.

Eddie Lowe attended Terrell County High and Tuskegee Institute . After college, Mr. Lowe joined the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he returned home and married his wife, Edna Dean, who predeceased him in 2009 .

They were married for fifty-four years. Together they were instrumental in bringing voting rights to Terrell County, Georgia as they stood strong in their determination and went all the way to the Supreme Court in the fight to end discrimination in the voting registration process in the South [particularly in their home town].

Eddie and Edna Lowe faced much oppos it ion during the ir fight for voting civil rights. Ultimately, they decided to move to New York where they worked and raised a family . After retirement, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia to live near the ir children and grandchildren .

Eddie Lowe was known by many for his booming bass voice, which he used to sing in the cho ir and keep order in the various organizations where they invariably chose him to serve as parliamentarian . He was a long-time member of Ben Hill United Method ist Church where he was active w ith the Jewels and Partners M inistry, Method ist Men, Sanctuary Cho ir, and the C. L. Henderson Male Cho rus.

During retirement, he was very active w ith his ne ighborhood Pinetree Homeowner's Association and he also worked as a voting clerk with the Fulton County Registration s and Elect ions Department.

Always ready to tell a joke or cut up on the dance floor, Mr. Lowe remained friends with many of the people from these organizations as his health declined.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life : his daughter, Venita (James) Epps; his son, Edd ie (Cheryl) Lowe Ill; his eldest grandson, James (Tiffany) Epps Ill; his youngest grandson Jamel (Joni) Epps; his great-grandsons James, Alexander Epps and Kayso n Jamel Epps; t w o sisters-in-law , Hattie Sherard and Jessie Ca meron, bot h of New York City, as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends .
