.. .So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we'refar apart,
For every time you think ofme, I'm right here, in your heart.
Today for life on earth is past, But here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last, and since each day's the same way
There's no longingfor the past.

When it seemed our loss was too great to bear, we looked up and our friends were there with words written and spoken, with faces smiling and hearts opened. You comforted us and shared our grief; God will bless and keep you granting all relief Our gratitude cannot be adequately expressed with mere words, but they are the best that we have to offer saying "Thank You" for lifting clouds and letting the sun shine through.

Obituary
Lionel Lewis Jr. was born February 27, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Mr. Lionel Lewis Sr. and Mrs. Essie Davis Lewis. Lionel attended E.A Ware Elementary and Booker T. Washington High School where he graduated in 1954. After graduating from high school, he entered the United States Air Force at the age of 17, and served 20 years. He retired as a Tech Sergeant in 1974 and has been employed with the United States Postal Service for the past 28 years.
Lionel accepted Christ at an early age, and joined West Mitchell Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. His dedication and service to the Lord was strongly evident as he became a member of the Masonic Order St. James Lodge #4 P.H.A, the Atlanta Consistory #24, Atlanta Commanders of the Rite, Nabbar Temple #128, The Past Potentate Council, The Sam McLurkin Crown Unit, The Creation Team and Capitol Star #148 O.E.S.
In 1970 Lionel married Lorna Cyrilla Honore and to this union two daughters Patricia Nicola, and Pamela Michelle. His daughters were his pride and joy. In 1998, his only grandchild Jordan Symone, was born. She has been a constant ray of sunlight in his life.
Lionel had a zest for life and made sure he lived it to the fullest. He was an avid traveler which led to his establishment of The Atlanta Travelers Social Club. In addition to traveling, this club was very active in the community. Of the many community endeavors, one was the sponsorship of Alonzo Herndon Elementary School, an inner-city Atlanta Public School. Lionel's generosity stemmed further as evidence by the many acts of kindness shown to family, friends and anyone in need. He strongly believed in helping his fellow man.
On Monday afternoon, March 1, 2004 at 1:36 p.m., God called his angel home to rest. He departed this life at Crawford Long Hospital among family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing: Lorna Lewis, devoted mother of his children: two loving daughters: Patricia and Pamela: one doting granddaughter: Jordan Symone: one dedicated brother: Jesse Morris and a host of dear friends.
''I'm Free''
Don 't grieve for me now I'm free I'm following the path God laidfor me. I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close ofday.
Ifmy parting has left a void,
Then fill it with rememberedjoy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times ofsorrow. I wish you the sunshine oftomorrow. My life 's been full, I've savored much, Goodfriends, good times, a loved one's touch.
- Perhaps my-time seemed-all too-brief -Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your hearts and share with me...
God wanted me now; He set me free.
