HERBERT (HERB) RAYMOND LEWIS, JR..
Herbert Raymond Lewis, Jr. (Herb) was born on March 25 1942; the son of the late Lora Meal Murphy of Colfax, Louisiana and the late Herbert Raymond Lewis, Sr. He graduated
from Mary Graham High School in Colfax Louisiana. Upon graduation" he relocated to
Little Roc~ Arkansas. There he attended Little Rock Barber College. Upon completion of his studies he knew that the world offered him a brighter future than becoming a barber. Being a prolific speaker his vision was to become a well known motivational speaker. Herb soon realized that the land of opportunity was in California.
In California, he attended Los Angeles City College, West Los Angeles College, U.C.L.A. and U.S.C. where he majored in chemistry and marketing. He worked in the supermarket industry for several years and later discovered that his true ability was exemplified in sales. In 1973, Herb entered the Real Estate profession and there found his niche. As a successful agent and regional manager for Mulhearn Realtors of Southern California, he supervised twelve (12) offices with sales volume of over $400 million annually and was co..owner of three (3) Mulhearn offices. He shared the podium -with Real Estate gurus, Robert G. Allen, Roger Dawson, Tom Hopkins, Danielle Kennedy, and many others.
Herb had the tenacity of a Bulldog and the foresight of an Eagle. Being the visionary that he was he saw new opportunities in Georgia. November 16, 1984, he moved to the Atlanta, GA area and opened Century 21 ~'Herb Lewis and Associates.~' Due to his exceptional training programs and commitment to provide the utmost, courteous and professional service to his customers his company, quickly became one ofthe largest Real Estate firms in the area with 115 associates.
He was also a Real Estate trainer, Investor, Investment Counselor and recognized author of
many real estate related books: "Knowledge on Fire part l & 2n; ''Creative Real Estate
Financing''; ''Creative Real Estate Counseling''; 'Foreclosure Property''; and ''How to Get Rich in the 80's using Creative Financing," to name a few.
Herb worked hard and made many sacrifices for his friends and family. He was a very giving person and will always be remembered for this generosity, willingness to share his wealth, knowledge and caring spirit. Herb was no stranger to the kitchen and was a selfmade chef and enjoyed thrilling people with his culinary skills. He adopted the Golden
Eagle as a point of reference to live by because of the strength, greatness and power it
signifies. One of his favorite quotes was ''Are you an Eagle or .a Che...Che Bird?'' Simply stated- are you going to strive for greatness and soar like an Eagle or accept mediocrity?
Herb's life and values were centered on the rearing and teachings ofhis late Grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Brown Murphy. He confessed Christ in his life and always spoke of His love grace & faithfulness.

On Sunday, July 16, 2006, Herb made his transition from his earthly home to his eternal home. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Beverly (Elder) Lewis, daughters, Tracy Lewis (Brazz) Evans, Caijsa Lewis; sons Steven (Kristi)Lewis of Elmira, New York, Marcus Lewis ofBuffalo, New York; grandchildren, Mercedes, Anna, Naomi Brazz IV, and Samuel; surrogate-mother and aunt Ann Pitts of Los Angeles, CA; Special friend/Nurse/Confidant -Rochelle Holloman, Best Friend/Confidant -John W Waters; Special Friend/Confidant- Edna Simpson, Special Friends- Leon & Donna Carter and a host ofaunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousinsand many friends.

WHEN I MusT LEAVE You
When l must leave you for a little while please do not grieve and shed wild tears; and hug your sorrows through the years, but start out bravely with a gallant smile.
And for my sake and His name, live on and do all things the same, feed not on your loneliness on empty days but fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer, and I, in tum, will comfort you and bold you near; and never, never be afraid to die, tFor I am waiting for you in the sky.

FAREWELL....
For Those I Have Left Behind I have not gone far
I still see
those tears you shed are for me.
I am not unhappy, I am not sad,
I just thank God for all we had. I did not choose to go away, but God told me I couldn t stay,
He reached for me with loving care. Now diy your eyes and remember me~
for where I am was meant to be.
To you that I have left behind, the love we've shared will always bind.
Until we meet again one day I've not gone far, I am just away.
Friends Always, --Mercedes Lewis Granddaughter
