Andrea Katherine Alba Lewis was born on July 27. 1943, in

Montgon1ery. Alabama to the late And!:~ Ruben Alba and Nanina C.

Alba. She attended elementary and high school school in Tuskegee

Institute, Alabama: Chambless Chil&en House and Tuskegee

Institute I-Ugh School (class of 1961).

Andrea received the Bachelor of Science Degree in Library

Science from Virginia State Universitf; Petersburg. VA. After

graduation. lmdrea served the Richm?rid. Virginia Public School

System where she received many honors for her talent in Library

Science and won many awards for bet creative displays in her

assigned school libraries. Andrea Alba. was also an associate librarian

for the L. Douglas Wilder Library at Virginia Union University in

Richmond. Virginia and t~e South Fulton Regional Library in Atlanta,

Georgia.

Andrea is loved by many friends and classmates. She would

often say that she was "A People Person". Ann had a winning,

outgoing personality and never met an enemy. Andrea. beloved child

of God. frequently attended church throughout the Atlanta and

Metropolitan Area since moving to Rex. Georgia. During Annrs

childhood. she was a member of her drandfather's Cleveland Avenue,

Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. Alabama and she Is a member

three of the First Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Andrea Lewis spent the last

years gallantly fighting

cancer. though she was not able to communicate these last few

months, Andrea managed an occasionhl smile (the snille she was

loved for by friends and family) and softly said "I love you." to the

loved ones who sat by her bedside.

Andrea Katherine Alba Lewis !$,survived by her son. Claude V.

Lewis Jr of Rex, Gk two daughters, Nanina E. Lewis of Richm.ond.

Virginia. and Carla M. Lewis of Rex. G)\; two grandchildren. Tylan H.

Catlin and Gina Andrea Catlin of Richfuond, Virginia; a sister and

brother-in-law, Panchita Alba and Richard Crawford of Columbus.

GA; a nephew, John Andres Adams and ,his family of Atlanta. GA; two
aunts. Elizabeth Alba of Philadelphia, PA and J 'acinta Alba of New

York. NY; a host of loving cousins; many devoted and loving

classmates and fiiends.
