On August 19, 1938 Robert (Tweet) Lee, Jr. was born to the late Robert Lee, Sr. and Margie P. Lee in Atlanta, GA. He was the oldest son of seven siblings.
As a young man Robert Tweet Lee, Jr. had many accomplishments. He attended George Washington Carver High School in Atlanta, GA where he was an all around prominent athlete. His brilliance on the field is honored in the hall of fame at Carver High School. After graduating high school he went on to play semi-pro football for the Atlanta Spartans, he also attended Grambling State University and Morristown College.
After leaving college he met the late Runelle Davis; after a couple of years dating, they wed on July 6, 1961. To their union were three daughters; Gina Lee, Tina Lee, and Sabrina Lee-Barr (Randy). In addition to his accomplishments he retired from The Atlanta Journal Constitution of forty plus years. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and also a dedicated friend. He was also a leader one who you could count on. His leadership was demonstrated in his active role in the community as a coach of the Mark Five Baseball team; his service in the Modern Men Club in which he received and award for outstanding and dedicated services.
Above all he was a Father first, he was truly a patriarch who dedicated his life to his family.
On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, he was received into eternal rest, where he is reunited with his wife Mrs. Runelle Lee.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters; Gina Lee, Tina Lee, and Sabrina Lee-Barr (Randy) and one son Nicholas Leslie. I em 11lwey~ With You
When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do, You mustn 't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many goodyears.
I gave you my love, andyou can only guess How much you 've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, ifgrieve you must Then let your griefbe comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart.
I won 't be far away for life goes on.
And ifyou need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near And ifyou listen with your heart, you 'II hear All my love aroundyou soft and clear.
And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home"
