OBITUARY
Life, death and eternity are three of the most powerful words in the English language. Life is given to man in infancy, and he is to care for it and preserve it as far as he is able until death. During the course of this life he has the opportunity to prepare himself for eternity. At the coming of death man loses only the earthly body but the eternal soul of a Christian lives on. Death is namely a gateway from this mean world to the beautiful city of God. Christ died that we might have and death to a Christian is a way to a more abundant life.
This busy life came to a close Monday, June 11, 1973 when God called to rest Mrs. Mattie G. Leeks. She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Green Gibson, married Mr. Jessie Leeks and two children were born to this union. She joined the Berrys Grove Baptist Church at an early age and in later years movedher membership to the Cedar Spring Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters and a son-in-law, Mr. & M1s. James A. Sain of Atlanta, Georgia and Mrs. Harriett Anderson of Detroit, Michigan; mother, Mrs. Lorena Gibson; five grandchildren, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Gude and son, Darrell, Yolanda and Michelle Anderson of Detroit, and Tameka Sain of Atlanta; five sisters, and three brothers-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Pollard, Mr, & Mrs. Robert Findley, Mrs. Helen Carter and Miss Lorene Gibsont of Detroit and Mr. & Mrs. Nathan Johnson of Cedartown, Georgia; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
