OBITUARY
Mrs. Lucile Lucas Lane, born August 12, 1926, departed this life November 4, 2000, at her residence after an extended illness.
Lucile was born to the parentage of the late Eugene Lucas and Estella Rogers Lucas.
She attended Hudson High School, where she graduated in 1945. While at Hudson High, she was captain of the girIs' basketball team and a member of the Tri-Hi-Y Club.
Lucile was also a graduate of Crandle Business College.
She was a member of the Chauquatau Social Club. She joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age and remained a lifelong member.
Lucile was the assistant director of recreation and supervisor of a girls program in Mississippi. She also held different and varied jobs in Macon, culminating her employment career with Macon Y.D.C., where she retired.
Ms. Lane was a great humanitarian, being a devoted foster parent and a giver to many charitable organizations. She was also a loving and caring neighbor.
Ms. Lane leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son, John Thomas Lane, Jr.; sisters, Mrs. China Lucas Grier and Mrs. Gladys Lucas Walker, both of Macon, Georgia, and Mrs. Estella Lucas Stephens of Stafford, Virginia; brothers, Mr. Ulysses Lucas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Mr. William Alvin Lucas of Atlantic City, New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Mr. William Stephens of Stafford, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Hurst Lucas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Beatrice Poole Lucas of Macon, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
