Our Heavenly Father in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to reach out on Saturday evening, .February 9, 2002 and call DEACON BENSON KIRVEN to his Heavenly home.
DEACON KIRVEN was born in Florence County, the son of the late Nettie Groundson Kirven and George Kirven.
He was educated in the Florence County school system and was a retired farmer.
In his early life, he was baptized in Jesus Name and received the Holy Ghost. He became a superintendent of the Sunday School board and was an ordain90 deacon. He was a member of Zion Temple Holiness Church.
DEACON KIRVEN was a dedicated deacon until his death.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
He was joined in holy wedlock to the late Evangelist Fannie Jones Kirven. To this union two children were born.
Left to cherish precious memories are: his son, David (Eloise) Kirven of Effingham, S.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Washington of Harrisburg, Va.; three sisters, Olive Kirven Johnson of Florence, S. C., Grace Kirven Jerkins of Jersey City, N. J. and Gertrude Kirven Sommerville of New Jersey; one brother, Josh Kirven of Warner Robins, Ga.; two sisters-inlaw, three brothers-in-law, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
