A LETTER TO MY HUSBAND
Dear Earlie King, Jr.,
For approximately 25,340 days, 12 hours and 25 minutes, you were my husband . My how the time has flown. During this time, we grew to love each other more day by day. Our thoughts became intertwined in that we often completed each other's statements.
I have enjoyed the many things we did together that became a tradition for us. I will miss having breakfast with you each morning between 5:30 and 6:30a.m. This was our favorite meal. You had to have your freshly perked coffee piping hot. I will miss sitting outside in your favorite spot that we named our Carport Park. I will miss the short and long trips that we took together where you treated me like I was your queen.
I thank you for living up to you vows in sickness and in health; you were always there for me.
You were my encourager. The accomplishments I obtained during our marriage were inspired by you. You would call me a professional student because I was always taking some kind of class. As a result, I got my M.E. degree and real estate broker's license. You kept the kids while I studied for those difficult tests.
You supported me in my church activities by accompanying me on member visitations and by helping out wherever you were needed. I will miss you waiting up for me to return from my deacon's meetings to see me safely into our home. My school activities were greatly enhanced by your presence as a volunteer and your frequent travel with me and my students. You often assisted me on my real estate endeavors by driving me to my appointments and by being with me when I showed a home to make sure that I was safe.
The morning walks in the neighborhood held special magic for me and will be greatly missed .
I will miss the call of "Shorty", "Miss Ann" and "Pest". These were the nicknames you gave me. "Miss Ann" was used w hen I was in trouble (sm ile). "Pest" and "Shorty" were used when I was in good standi ng.
I thank you, Earlie King , Jr., for being there for me and our children. You were an excellent husband , father, grandfather, son , brother and uncle. Well , I'm going to close this letter now. I am not saying goodbye for we will meet again on the other side at Jesus' feet.
Love, Your Loving Wife Linda (Affectionately "Miss Ann", "Pest" and "Shorty")
