Obituary
On May 21, 1926, Charlie was born to the late Ms. Bessie (Sweet) Jones. He was one of six children; one sister, Carlie Belcher and two brothers, Wilson and Henry Jones preceded him in death.
At an early age, he joined Mt. Zion AME Church where he was an active and faithful member until failing_ health prevented his participation. Charlie loved his church and his church family.
On December 26, 1946, he married Alice Mae "AT" Brooks. To this devoted wife, he was married nearly 62 years. Although they had no biological children, they had meaningful involvement and support in the rearing of other children in the family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Mrs. Alice Mae "AT" Jones, two sisters, Ms. Carrie L. Jones and Ms. Marie Jones, one nephew, Mr. Augusta Belcher, three nieces, Ms. Marion Belcher, Ms. Carlene Cost and Ms. Louise Jones, three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Ola Young, Mrs. Inell (John) Adams and Mrs. Lucy Burns, three brothers-in-law; Mr. Arbie Belcher, Mr. Amos Williams and Mr. Lonnie Williams and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In the Morning
My love, we have been blessed to be partners in this life for so long. We have laughed together, wept together and partnered together as husband and wife. I cherish all these years that God gave us together and I will continue to trust him. When it was told to me that physical life was ebbing from _you, my heart began to break. But there is now a particular peace in the midst of my sadness, because I know that your sickness is over. My hope is in God and I am comforted that like he did for you, he will take care of me. I am thankful to God for the beautiful life we had together and by his grace Charlie, I'll see you in the morning!
Your Loving Wife, Alice "AT" Jones
