Was born May 11, 1934 to the late Crosby and Rosie Lee Walker. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to this union.
Peggy was a devoted member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served as an Usher, Deaconess, and on the Senior Mother Board until her illness.
Peggy was employed with the Atlanta Board of Education for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, social club and spending time with her family.
Peggy was called home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2016. She was preceded in death by 4 of her sons, Larry, Ronald, Torrence, and Stanley Walker. She had 13 siblings who preceded her in death as well, Abbie Walker, Eddie Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Richard Walker, Hazel Simmons, Julia Walker, John T. Walker SR., Emma Quinn, Carrie Brown, Crosby Walker, Wilson Walker, Grace Stewart and Ollie White.
Peggy leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Pamela Cooper and son, Michael Lovett (Pamela), 13 grandchildren, Nia Roberts (Roderick), Marquis Hickmon, Derrick Lovett, Octavia Jenkins (Chris), Eric Walker, Miquel Walker, Meko Walker (Maryam), Brandis Davis (Derrick) Brandy Walker, Brandon Walker, Keana Daugherty (Santo), Janina Cole, and Angel Cole, 34 great-grandchildren. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
