Minnie was born on March 21, 1945, in Jakin, Georgia, to the late Genie Mills, Sr. and Ella Ree Brown Mills. At an early age she became a follower ofJesus Christ and joined Good Hope AME Church of Cedar Springs, Georgia. She grew up in Early County where she graduated from Washington High School, Blakely, Georgia. Minnie then attended Albany Technical College where she studied, graduated and was licensed in Cosmetology.
In 1963, she met Eulie Johnson, Jr. After a six year courtship, they married on August 10, 1969 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked as a beautician before joining her husband and opening a heating & air, TV and appliance repair business. After moving to Atlanta, Minnie and Eulie started to attend and later joined the New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church (which later became the Crown of Glory Church International). After many years of faithful service she was appointed to the Mother's Ministry and served for several years as President. Minnie found special joy in working with the Hospitality Ministry.
