The sun rose on Fannie Thrasher Johnson May 10, 1921 which was a blessing to the late Emory and Magnolia Roberson Thrasher.
On May 27, 2013, Fannie's Heavenly Father said it is time for you to transition. Your heavenly home awaits you where there will be no more pain. You will have joy and peace.
Fannie was a member of Kings Memorial United Methodist Church, Rev. Emile Ennis, Pastor.
She was educated in Athens, Georgia Public Schools where she met her husband, the late John T. Johnson (J.T.). He told Fannie in elementary school that he was going to marry her, which he did and they remained married for 42 years until his death.
To this union of marriage, they were blessed with seven children, John T. (Barbara) Johnson, Jr., Edward (Lenora) Johnson, Janice (AL) Collier, Michael (Eva) Johnson, David (Janice) Johnson, Darryl (Rene) Johnson and Jona K. Johnson.

Fannie was a housewife, true mother and the matriarch of her family. She always said that she loved taking care of her family. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were the most important possessions of her life. She taught them to pray, to love and to protect each other.
She always loved and welcomed her children's friends into her home. Her door was always open to all and she loved cooking for her family. She always said that there was room at her table for someone else which there usually was, at least, one person most of the time. Anyone that came to her house hungry always left full.
Until she became ill in January 2010, she enjoyed shopping, having family and friends over and visiting with her siblings in Athens, Georgia and Oakridge, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.T., four brothers Curtis, Bobby, Roy, and James Thrasher and two sisters Julia Jones and Evemolia Reid.
Her everlasting memories will be cherished by her seven (7) children, fourteen (14) grandchildren, sixteen (16) great grandchildren, and two (2) great-great grandchildren; two (2) siblings, Lucile Elder of Athens, GA, and Ruth Shannon of Oak Ridge, TN, a brother-in-law, Willie James Reid, Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
"To the One who bears the sweetest name, and adds a luster to the same,
who shares my joys, who cheers when sad, the greatestfriend I've ever had;
Blessed Eternal Life to her for there is none other Who can take the place ofour Dear, Dear Mother!" Author Unknown

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright
There is perfectjoy and beauty In this everlasting light.
All the pain and griefis over, Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peaceforever, Safely home in Heaven at last.
Didyou wonder J so calmly Trod the valley ofthe shade? Ohl But Jesus' love illumined Every dark andfearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus'arm to lean on, Could I have on_e doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still;
Try to looli beyond earth 's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's WilL
There is work still waitingfor you, So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth, You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture ofthat meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!!
