About two weeks ago, Portia Green called me you see, And left a message that said, "urgent, immediate, ASAP!"
She asked if I would participate in the program this night, I said, "for the Class of"75", cool, groovy, no problem, really out of sight!"
After I hung up the phone I didn't know if I was up to this task, That 30 seconds earlier I'd just been asked.
So being a modem woman...GIRLFRIEND.. .I jumped into my phone booth and put on my Superwoman regalia, My cape, my "S", because I did not want to fail 'ya.
I thought of Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, and Shakespeare too. Then it hit me and I knew what I had to do.
Write a poem and dedicate it to the Class of '75 twenty years late. It became my mission, my goal.. ...No!, this is my fate!
Thus, if you sit back, relax, listen, lend me your ear, To the Class of '75, I dedicate this poem of yesteryear.............
The Class of '75 is super bad! We're the best class that 0-W has ever had!
We are the first freshman class in 0-W's history. If that isn't a great honor, then tell me people, what can it be?
We wore our afros, bell bottoms, minis, and blowouts, The fashions were extremely ugly without a doubt!
Cheerleaders, basketball players, and the newspaper staff, Algebra, geometry, science and math.
We worked hard to make 0-W the best, But had no problem staying home when it was time to take a test!
But it was the people that gave the Class of '75 a star. Clara Bell Snell, George Washington Bell, William 'Foot' Harrison, Eveme "Gummy" Carr!
My oh my........ye gads zoots, It's Michael Zeigler in some platformed boots!
Strut boy strut, that's the way to go, Well, there's George "Bodidly" Richardson coming through the door

Greg Jones set a high goal for himself, He just wanted to be named "Mr. Best Dressed".
Every other day of the week it was just a place to eat, But on Friday nights the cafeteria was a place to stomp our feet!
The lights got low, the music pumped. Some dance the robot, others bumped.
Who's that I see slow dragging in the dark in the comer? I could call names but I ain't gonna,
'Cuz Avis Cummings and Frank Staley are going through the Soul Train line, And I don't plan to be far behind!
B. T. Express, The Ohio Players, The Isley Brothers. Al Green, The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, And all the others,
Are now beatln' out on the stereo, And there 's no way I'm coming off this dance floor!
All too soon we left high school and went out into the world, To become productive citizens every boy and every girl.
Some joined the army; others went on to college, To study four more years and gain a little more knowledge.
Some have gotten married; some are still single. We even put together Gwen and Larry Pringle!
We 're mothers, fathers, and all the like you know. Daryl Evans has a set of twin boys in tow.
In our lives and on our jobs we fill various roles......... Cynthia Bonnett Middleton climbs up telephone poles!
Calvin Legette will sell you a car any day, But the deal is off, my brother, if you cannot pay !
If you find yourself in a legal fix............. Attorney Tanya Lewis will take care of it!
Oh yes, the Class of '75 is on the ball, Distinguished members one and all.
Now no one can say what the next 20 years will bring, But I do know this one thing.
The Class of '75 is really, really bad!
