Elmo James, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia was born to Ozz nd Elmo James, Sr. on June 14, 1943. As a small child, he joined Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta where he was baptized and worshiped with his family. He attended and graduated from Archer High School with
high honors with a full academic scholarship to Morehouse College in 1961.

In 1965 he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his return, he met the love of his life and married Donzella Johnson. Shortly thereafter, he came to work as Federal Air Traffic Controller, after a nearly perfect score (99.5) on the assessment, working for the Federal Aviation Administration

Elmo was very athletic and was a huge Atlanta Falcon's football fan making sure to purchase his annual season passes, GO FALCONS! Besides spending time with his immediate and extended family, he enjoyed playing golf and serving as an usher at his church home,
"The Most Bl~ssed Sacrament Catholic Church." Elmo was a very kind, gentle soul and ad~_ired by all. -He was a man of peace, integrity and honor.
