Rubye Mae Jackson was born on December 31, 1929 to the late Willie and Mary Robinson as the oldest sister of the late Katie Robinson Crawford and younger sister to the late Mae Emma Robinson. Rubye graduated in 1946 from East Depot High in LaGrange, GA. She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Willie Jackson, Jr.
As a small child Rubye showed interest in playing the piano as she often pretended to play the piano on the window seal. She took formal piano lessons from her third grade teacher Mrs. Brown. As she learned she taught her younger sister Katie. She grew up singing gospel music with her sister and 4 cousins in a group known as the Six Pearly Gates singers. The group's name was later changed to the Female Nightingales by a member of the Male Nightingales singers. She sang with the Female Nightingales for over 50 years and served as lead signer and pianist.
The first church Rubye played for was Solomon Grove in LaGrange, GA. She played the piano for all the choirs of Thessalonian Baptist Church, Newberry Chapel AME and New Vision of Faith Gospel Ministries in Atlanta and all choirs at Bethel Grove in Covington, GA.
She recently joined the Agape Wholistic Life Changing Ministries, formerly Progressive Church of Atlanta. Rubye retired several years ago from Oxford Cleaning Service where she worked the Woodruff Arts Center account. Rubye enjoyed playing the piano, telling jokes, visiting with her children, grandchildren and other family members.

There is a difference between death and dying, Death is the end
While dying allows us to live again. To be free ofpain No fear, No blame.
To attain promises reservedfor the saved, Free from the hassles ofbeing in flesh
Free from worrying about hair and nails being a mess. Free from depending on others for help,
Now I'm in heaven. Keep you help for yourself. Laugh when you think ofsomething crazy I've said,
Let that be the memory ofme in your hear. And any time you feel alone or scared, Remember I just died I'm not dead!
By Kathryn Yancey 2009

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will upholdyou with My righteous right hand '
Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
"For I am now ready to be offered and the time ofmy departure is at hand. I have fought a goodfight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. "
2 Timothy 4:6-7 (KJV)
"Jesus said unto him, I am the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Ifye have known me, ye should have known my Father also; andfrom henceforthye know him and have seen him"
St. John 14:6-7 (KJV)
