Pejay Jackson was born in Jacksonville, FL to Earlie C. and Mildred
L. Hutchins and moved to New York with her parents at an early age.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in Brooklyn. While in New York, Pejay worked for one of the largest advertising agencies, J. Walter Thompson. She also worked for "Good Morning America" as a stage manager. Her life in the entertainment business was paralleled with her exuberant personality and consistent drive to excel. Later she left New York and settled back in Jacksonville where she was an active member of Abyssinian Baptist Church. While there, she worked for the University of North Florida as a production assistant on the television series "Point Man."
She moved to Snellville, GA in 2004 where she worked at Bed, Bath
& Beyond until she retired. Pejay became an active member of Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain and then the Gwinnett County location. She was a dynamic person, full of life and lived vivaciously keeping God first. Her smile lit up any room and her warm and beautiful presence could be felt.
She will be sincerely missed but her legacy will live on with all the lives she impacted. Pejay is survived by her husband, James Jackson Jr. of Charleston, SC, two children: son, Spencer "Taheem" Jackson (daughter-in-law Fatimah M. Jackson), and daughter, Audra P.
