Obituary
Debra Jean Ward was born on November 10, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to Reverend John and Martha Ward. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church, Toledo Ohio. She later moved back to Atlanta and joined Old Mountain Top Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor John Ward. She later joined Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Hapeville Georgia under the leadership of Pastor John Ward (now Pastor Emeritus) and Pastor James Pullin.
Debra loved Gospel music. She was a member of the W.J. Jones Memorial Choir and the Senior Choir. One of her favorite songs was "God Is". Debra also served as advisor to the Junior Ushers.
Debra's first employment after returning to Atlanta was with the C&S Bank. Just prior to her death, she was employed with KS&B Cabinet Mart where she worked for many years planning, designing and placing cabinets in many homes throughout the city of Atlanta and State of Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana. She was also a Melaleuca Distributor.
Debra departed this life on March 25, 2006 at South Fulton Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Reverend John and Martha Ward; her daughter, Michelle Jackson; her son, Sean Jackson; her grandchildren, Kenyanna and Brittany Jackson; three sisters, Janice Ward, Trudy Ward and Cathy (John) Waters; two brothers, Michael Ward and Reginald Ward; one niece, Kashia Ward; three nephews, Brian Wikinson, Christopher Waters and Thomas Jones; a great aunt, Midred Gunn and a host of aunts, cousins and many friends. Debra displayed her love for others wherever she traveled an.d was loved by many. She will continue to be loved always.
