What a time, what a time, what a time. We, your family, and some of your Church members rejoiced with you as you slipped away from us; gazed at the portals of heaven and viewed that holy city, a place prepared for God's anointed and blessed children. As your spirit hovered over the room, we were able to feel the presence of the Lord. I know you were, physically comatose, but the presence that was on your person let us know that you were aware that we were there in the room as you were making that transition from mortality to immortality. I know you know, but this is what took place:
Your two daughters, that are ministers of the gospel, orchestrated Church service. We knew how you loved God and going to Church. So Beverly opened with a prayer of Thanksgiving, afterwards your children and four grand children, sister and sister in law sang several songs; Blessed Assurance, Jesus My Rock and My Salvation, I Don't Feel No Ways Tired. Followed by reciting the 23rd Psalm in unison. Sang How Great Thou Art, To God Be the Glory, & I Love You Lord. Then Bro. Burgess prayed a prayer of comfort., We continued singing What A Friend We Have In Jesus, We are Soldiers in the Army, It Is Well With My Soul, The Lord's Prayer, Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow, and closed with There's A Sweet, Sweet Spirit, (As this last note was completed, you breathed your last breath.) Here is your other preaching daughter, Mary, Prayed the Closing Prayer and gave the Benediction.
The Lord was in that place, because the staff from the Nurse's station came in and joined us, as did two family members of other patients in the ICU area. Such rejoicing that took place in that room, you would never believe. But, this was your life, and you were so very special to so many people, touched so many lives along the way, and was just a Godly woman. We wanted to give you a loving and Spirit- filled send off. You deserve God's best for you, and who are we to stand in the way of such a precious gift and reward that you will be receiving from the One and Only God, The Alpha and the Omega. One who said I am? Whose promise is that there is nothing that I shall with-hold from those who are called by my name. That's a perfect description of you Mom.
Good -Night, Take your rest, We will see you in the morning.
Your family. The Whole Entire Bunch. And that's a lot of Love.
