OBITUARY
Robert Lee Hutchins Jr., son of the late Robert and Alberta Hutchins Sr. was called into heavenly rest on Thursday March 5, 2009 by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on September 26, 1948 in Bronx, New York, Robert was a product of the New York public school system and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY. A few years after graduation, Robert left New York and moved to Seattle, W A where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Community Planning. Later, Robert moved to Fremont, CA where he married Mary Ann and to this union Brian Jeffrey was born. While juggling new fatherhood, Robert received his Masters in Computer Engineering. He also became a member of the
Masonic Sons of Solomon Lodge # 73 in San Jose, CA.
Mter his divorce, Robert found a home in Atlanta, GA where he resumed his walk with God and became an active member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Decatur, Georgia. There he enjoyed working with seniors and driving the church van . It was also at Hillcrest that Robert met his beloved "Boobie", Phyllis Daughtery with whom he began weaving a life filled with love, laughter and service.
Robert's hobbies included fishing, golfing, playing Bid Whist, spades, and laughing with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Brian Jeffrey Hutchins of Fremont, CA, his stepmother Freada Hutchins of Jacksonville, FL, his beloved Phyllis Daughtery of Atlanta, GA, his sisters Elizabeth (Paul) Mason of Fayetteville NC, Gwen (Floyd) Bethea of Brandon FL, and Shirley Hutchins of Tampa FL. He also leaves three aunts, anumber of cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and cherished friends.
