For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up fro me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his
appearing.
!lldcnctldec(?e/IJU7Jl/6 We, the family of Herbert Cornelius Hutcherson, wish to thank our
many friends, relatives, and acquaintances for their kindness, prayers, sympathy, and expressions of love shown during our
bereavement. We are forever grateful for the memories and moments shared. God bless you all.

Dr. Jonathan C. Carter, Pastor Eulogist
Herbert Cornelius "H. C." Hutcherson was born to the late Otis and Mary Hutcherson, Sr. on May 14, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in East Point, Georgia, he attended East Point Elementary School and South Fulton High School. He joined Siloam Baptist Church at an early age and was a member until his death.
Herbert began working at the age of 14, helping out after school at Sterling Jewelry Store in East Point. He was drafted while in the lith grade and served two years in the United States Army. Upon his return home, Herbert enrolled into George Washington Carver Vocational School to complete his education. He worked nights at Fort McPherson and later at Curtis Candy Company.
Returning to work at Fort McPherson as a Nursing Assistant in the post hospital, Herbert was often cited for exemplary work standards as well as his cheerful and cooperative nature. He continued to work at Fort McPherson for 33 years, until his retirement in 1988.
Having more to give, Herbert, began working at A.G. Rhodes Nursing Home, retiring, once again, after 11 years of service. Where upon he enjoyed time with his family and actively pursued his hobbies: working on cars, gardening, fishing, and telling stories.
Herbert married Louise Freeman of Jonesboro, Georgia in 1957. This happy union was blessed with three wonderful children, Herbert, Tw aneesa and Bryce.
Herbert was preceded in death by his brother, Otis, Jr. and sister, Thelma Smith.
