Miles Harper Hunter was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 11, 1951 to the late J. W. Harper and Lula Mae Daniel. Miles entered into rest on August 12, 2014.
Miles grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where he attended and graduated from Washington High School. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he served until receiving an honorable discharge.
After returning from military service, Miles entered into marriage with Doris Kinsey on May 6, 1972. From this union two children were born, Demond Vinson Hunter and Miles Harper Hunter, Jr.
In 1975, Miles began employment at General Motors Corporation's Lakewood Plant. He worked as an assembler for 30 years.
During his tenure with GM, surviving frequent layoffs, consolidations, and plant closings, he relocated to Buffalo, New York, and then to Tuscaloosa, Alabama before finally returning home where he worked until retiring from the Doraville Plant in 2006. Miles enjoyed his job and had fond memories of his GM co-workers.
Miles shared a passion for television. Specifically, during the last two years of his life, Miles enjoyed shows that made him laugh, such as the Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, and a host of game shows. Until his very last day, Miles' favorite meal was hamburger, french fries, and various sweets.
Celebrating his life and cherishing fond loving memories of him are two dearly beloved sons, Demond Vinson (Amanda) Hunter and Miles Harper (Jutzil) Hunter, Jr.; former wife and dear friend, Doris Hunter Jenkins; four grandchildren, Kayla, Demond, Jr., Kameron, and Destane Hunter; four siblings, Horace (Cynthia) Daniel, Della Hull, Kathleen Hollins, and Patricia Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Imagine ifI was given one moment,
Just a single slice ofmy past. I could hold it close forever, and that moment would always last.
I'd put the moment in a safe, within my hearts abode. I could open it when I wanted, and only I would know the code.
I could choose a time oflaughing, a time ofhappiness andfun. I could choose a time that tried me, through everything I 've done.
I sat and thought about what a moment, would always make me sm~le. One that would always push me, to walk that extra mile.
IfI'm feeling sad and low, IfI'm struggling with what to do.
I can go and open my little safe, and watch my moment through.
There are moments I can think of, that would lift my spirits every time. The moments when you picked me up, when the road was hard to climb.
For me to only pick one moment, to cherish, save and keep, is proving really difficult, as I've gathered up a heapI
I've dug deep inside my heart, found the safe and looked inside, there was room for lots ofmoments,
in fact hundreds ifI tried.
I'm building my own little library, embedded in my heart, for all the moments spent with you, before you had to part.
I can open it up whenever I like, pick a moment and watch it through. My little library acts as a promise, I 'll never ever forget you
