OBITUARY
We have come together at the call of death, an event that is constantly occuring around us.
Death came to Jessie Daniel (Jay Hop) Hopson Tuesday morning, October 17, 1989. He has seen many of his friends and loved ones go home and now he has gone to be with them.
He was the fourth child of seven born to the late Anderson and Minnie Hopson on April16, 1915 in Troup County, Georgia. He grew up with his sorrows and joys.
He was married to the late Earlene Houston Hopson. At an early age he joined the Arris Chapel Church and later joined the Springfield Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a textile employee and a taxie driver. He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers and one sister, Mr. Henry Hopson, Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Frances Dawson, Hogansville, Georgia, Mr. Alton Hopson, Sr., Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Nina Hopson, Mrs. Willie Mae Hopson and Mrs. Mary Hopson; a loving cousin, Mrs. Julie Byrd; ten nephews, six nieces, thirty grand-nieces and nephews, four great grandnieces and nephews and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
God saw that he was suffering, and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed his weary eyes and whispered ccPeace Be Thine. "
