Sarah Carolyn Williams Hood was born in Louisville, Georgia to the late Roger Williams and Sarah Long Williams Harden on October 11, 1936.
She received her education in the public schools ofJefferson County. Later, she continued her education at Dei<.alb Junior College, in Decatur, C~eorgia.
At an early age, Sarah united with the St. Paul l\fissionary Baptist Church in Louisville, C:reorgia. She se.nTed at St. Paul until relocating to Decatur, C~eorgia. In Atlanta, she united \vith the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Sarah met the lo,ye of her life in the person of Hubert Hood. They \vere married on .April 11, 1964. T'heir union lasted for twenty-five years. .A1though no children \vere born to this union, Sarah \Vas blessed \Vith one child, I<.erry Harden.
Sarah \vas employed with the Grady I-Iospital System 1n .Atlanta, Georgia until her retirement.
On l\fonday, April 21, 2014, the clarion call was sounded by the author of Everlasting life and Sarah I-Iood heeded his call.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving son, 1-fr. I<.erry Harden; cousins: 1\frs. Ed,vina L. Hefner, l\fr. Donald Long, 1-frs. Joyce L. Corn, ~fr. Ed\vard Long; in-laws: Ivlrs. Willie Ivfae Warbington, Ivfr. Rufus B. l)unnigan; close friends: ~1r. and 1-frs. Ivfa.n~in Bro\vn; nieces, nephe\vs and a host of other relatives and friends.
