A 11 Charge to Keep I Have"

On September 10, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida, Charles Kenneth Hodge, affectionately known as "CK", was born to the late James Lee and Johnnie Mae Hodge. As a lifelong, Christian, educator, father, friend, he transitioned from earth on July 21, 2006 to live with his heavenly father. "CK's"
life was rooted in his calling: "A Charge to Keep I Have".

"A Charge to Keep I Have" - Sagacious Student Charles received his early education in the Duval County Public School System which prepared him for his matriculation at Edward Waters College where he received a B.S. degree in social studies. He enhanced his educational credentials with a M.S. degree in education and a Specialist degree in
education from Atlanta University.

"To serve the present age, My calling to fulfill"- Dedicated Educator For over 36 years "CK" touched the lives of countless students, as a social studies and special education teacher at David T. Howard and North Fulton High Schools, Community School Administrator at S.H. Archer High School and Booker T. Washington High School and later served as an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington High School. He was passionate that all students deserved a quality education; therefore, he remained vigilant for those students who others considered
unreachable. His day-to-day journey was "to do His Master's will."

"Help me to watch and pray" - Faithful Servant At a very early age, Charles gave his life to Christ at Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Georgia from Jacksonville, Florida, he united with Flipper Temple A.M. E. Church. For over 35 years, he worked untiringly in his church and served in numerous capacities to build God's kingdom. He was Steward Pro-tem, a member of Usher Board II, Senior Usher Board, Male Chorus,
Finance Committee, and Chairperson of Men's Day 2006 and the church's anniversary celebration.

"A Charge to Keep I Have" - Loyal Member Charles was a life member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, a member of Phi Delta Kappa International, -and a member of the Booker T. Washington High School PTSA. During his tenure at Archer High School, he was an active member of the Perry Homes Tenant Association where he spent copious
hours assisting students and parents.

"0 may it all my powers engage to do my Master's will" - Devoted Family Man

He was married to Mamie Mims Hodge. He was the proud father of two sons, one daughter, and one

grandson. Not one day would pass nor one hour when he did not mention his family. Mamie- his

joy, the children - his pride, and his grandson - his hope for tomorrow. He leaves to cherish his

memory a loving and devoted wife, Mamie Mims Hodge; two sons, Kenneth C. Hodge, Damon K.

Hodge; one daughter, Shannon N. E. Hodge; two sisters, Marie (Willie) Satterfield, Atlanta, Georgia,

Cynthia (Arthur) Jenkins, Jacksonville, Florida; and one brother, Rev. Clayton (Shirley) Hodge Naples,

Florida. His sister, Catherine Hodge Pope, and his two brothers, Alvin Bernard Hodge and James L.

Hodge, Jr, preceded him in death. He is also survived by one aunt Celestine (Johnnie) Waye; his
