Called to be a Refuge, God . Once Sister Hill said, "All them." As the congregation grew, Hill purchased the facility on Schaefer in moved to its present location on West Outer forty-three years.
Sister Hill had a
passion and an insatiate desire to love God, be like Him, and live
for Him. She exuded love. She loved the unlovable, the downtrodden, the rejected, the disconsolate,
the despised, the poor, the depressed, the sick, the elderly, the infirm and the disenchanted. Her heart
always had a place for one more. In her last weeks, she continued to love and minister to the needy
despite personal challenges.
Sister Hill made her transition on February 18, 2000. She leaves to celebrate her transition: a dedicated goddaughter, Estelle Keith; a cousin, Mary Shelton of White Plains, New York; other cousins; her devoted Grace Refuge family; and all those who were blessed and loved by her.
Sister Hill was a saintly, Godly servant and "She shall be mine, saith the Lord ofhost when I
make up my Jewels."

"The l,ord is my hepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths ofrighteousness for his name:\ sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley ofthe hadow ofdeath, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anomte.\t my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my l(fe : and I will cnvell m the house ofthe Lordfor ever. "
God's love is like an island In life's ocean vast and wide-
A peaceful, quiet shelter From the restless, rising tide . . .
God's love is like an anchor VVhen the angry billows rollA mooring in the storms of life, A stronghold for the soul . . .
God's love is like a harbor ~ere our souls can find sweet rest From the struggle and the tension Of life's fast and futile quest . . .
God's love is like a beacon Burning bright with faith and prayer And through the changing scenes of life
We can find a haven there!
Sister Hill, you're always there To help meet my every need. Sometimes it's consoling me,
"When my heart is about to bleed. Or maybe its just encouraging me
In jesus' most precious name. But your God-given love and compassion
Continues just the same. And when life has tossed me about
And the dark shadows are low You forthrightly teach the Word And the Spirit enables me to grow. And when my head above circumstances
I scarcely can raise I recall how you taught me To offer the sacrifice ofpraise You explained how to die to myself, and let Him have control of me And how to wa!R day by day In Christ's marvelous, complete victory. So there's a place in my life That you share with another
It pleases me to call you My pastor and spiritual mother.- Audra Wood
