IN LOVING MEMORY
OF
HERMAN E. HILL
!Ve live a short while on earth, below, Reluctant to die, for we do not knmv Just what dark death is all abo11t, And so we view it with fear and doubt.
ot certain of what is around the bend,
!Ve look on death as the final end To all that made us mortal beings, Andyet there lies bryond our seeing A beautiful life so full and complete That we should live with God~ sat:red streams Amid beauty andpeat:e bryond our dreams.
For all who believe in the risen Lord
Have been assured of this reward;
And death for them isjustgraduation
To a higher realm of wide elevation.
For life on earth is a transient affair, Just afew briifyears in which to prepare
For a life that isfree ofpain and tears,
Where time is not counted ~ hours oryears.
For death is on!J the method God those
To colonize heaven with the souls of those
!Vho I?J their apprenticeship on earth
Proved wort~?; to dwell in the land ofnew birth.
So death is not sad, it's a time for elation, A ;O)ous transition, the soul's emigration Into aplace where the soul's safe andfree
To live zvith God through eterni"(y.
