Ben Hill, Jr., the son of Mr. Ben Hill, Sr. and the late Mrs. Viola Hill, was born in Bibb County, Macon, Georgia, May 13, 1931.
While very young Ben accepted Christ and united with New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. H. C. Anthony. His education was received atM. M. Burdell and Hudson High Schools.
Ben entered the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict until he received an Honorable Discharge. He was also an avid sports fan - having played baseball with the Bibb Bombers.
Many of his adult years were spent in New York where he was skillfully employedwith the BlueBirdTruckingandMoving Company
- a businesses owned by his uncle, Mr. Walker C. Hill. At the time
of his sudden demise on Sunday, July 1, 1990 at an Alabama hospital he was employed as a carrier for the Macon Telegarph.
Cherishing his memory will be a devoted father: Mr. Ben Hill, Sr., Macon, GA; a loving sister, Mrs. Leola Maynard, Macon, GA; uncle, Mr. Walker C. Hill, Macon, GA; aunts, Mrs. LueveniaPeeples, Mrs. Ida Bell Mortimore, Savannah, GA, Mrs. Pricilla Floyd, Mrs. Lillian Curtis, Macon, GA; brother-in-law, Mr. Silas Maynard, Macon, GA; nieces, Ms. Arzella King, Mrs. JoAnn Crafter; nephews, Mr. Harold Crafter, Mr. Elwood King; devoted cousins, Mrs. Etta Mae Brown, New York, Mrs. Virginia Jones, Macon, GA; a number of sorrowing cousins and a myraid of lamenting friends, including a devoted and loving friend Deacon Robert Brown of Macon, GA.
