Mommy,

My heart is heavy because I will miss you so. I will miss our shopping sprees, our special lunches, and

our silly talks. My heart is full because I remember the sacrifices you made for our family ... especially

for me. You have always been the Proverbs 31 woman. My heart is pleased that you have fought the

good fight of faith and finally have your reward. I am proud of the woman of God you continued to be

even as you followed a difficult journey. My heart is joyful because of the memories you leave behind

and the knowledge that I will see you again in a place where there is no suffering and you are free to be

the woman of praise that you are.

I was born in Laurens, SC on August 1, 1945 to the late Riley Andrew Jones and the late Gary
Lee Puckett Jones. To that union, my brother, Harold Durrell Jones (who preceded me in death) was also born. When I was 4 years old, my parents migrated to Delray Beach, FL.
I attended Boynton Rangeline Elementary School in Boynton Beach, FL and S.D. Spady
Elementary School in Delray Beach. I then attended Carver High School in Delray Beach and graduated in 1963. After that, I attended Pompano Beach Business College.
I married Robert Lee Hendricks in 1965 and two children were born to this union: Lyndria
Regina Hendricks and the late Darrin Gerard Hendricks. At an early age, I became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and later St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Delray Beach. We joined Atlanta' s Ben Hill United Methodist Church in 1979. After hearing the Majestic Choir, I became a member and have participated in several other ministries, including Communion Stewards, Jewels and Partners, Sunday School and the Red Hat Society.
I was employed at Boca Raton Community
Hospital, C. 0. Jolly of Pompano Beach and Southern Bell (now AT&T). While at Southern Bell, I transferred to Atlanta in 1979 and retired after 28 years of service. After retirement, I received a degree in medical transcription and worked for Peachtree Transcription. My own company, Marianne' s Gift Baskets, came next and I was blessed to create baskets for many special occas1ons .
I am passing the torch to my remaining family to run on for Jesus because I have crossed the
finish line. My precious daughter, Lyndria Regina Bland (Harrison); my very special cousin Patricia Walker, who has always been like a sister to me; my sisters Lynnette Heard, Linda Darnell, Barbara Hayes (Henry) and Andria Doria; brothers John Henry Sales and Vance lrby Puckett; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
