Palestina Henderson, the daughter ofthe late Pellum Culver and Josephine Davis, was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 15, 1936. Palestina graduatedfrom Howard High School in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Atlanta Area Technical School and received an Associate Degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. During her nursing career, she was a diligent worker at Crawford Long Hospital and Harvester Heights Nursing Home.
Palestina loved the Lord and served Jesus dutifully throughout her life. She was member ofthe Greater Love Christian Church. She participated in church related activities as a long as her health permitted. She was a church mother and served well in that capacity.
Palestina loved talking with people about the Lord, listening to gospel music, doing floral arrangements and preparing beautiful cakes for special occasions. She also loved to prepare soups, sandwiches and delicious homemade cookies for the homeless. She would take these food items to various locations on the streets ofAtlanta and share them with a number ofhomeless people. One ofher greatest joys was being with her family. She seemed to get a special glow 1-vhencver she was with her grandchildren, her children and their friends. Throughout the years, Palestina shared many pleasurable and memorable visits with her family. She was a dedicated mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
She leaves to mourn her loss the following family members: Sheryl Terrell (Reverend Larry Terrell), Steven E. Clark, Volanda Deas (Reverend Melvin Deas), Rickey Walker (Deena Walker), Rosalia Ghaznavi, Nyoka Walker White (Norman White) and A! demico Walker, children; Jonathan, Michael and Rachel Terrell, Melquanda and Joshua Deas, Brandon, Ashley, Lyle, Kyle and Daffini Walker, Antiqua Walker, Shannon Ghaznavi, A! Demico Walker, Jr., grandchilren; Louise Mallory, aunt, Alfred H. Walker, ex-husband, Lelia Brown, special friend, cousins and many friends.
Needless to say, Palestina Henderson will be missed. We know that she is out ofpain and resting in peace with our loving father, Jesus Christ.
