In the early morning of March 28, 2009, Flossie Mae Heart quietly entered in the portals of eternal life. She was born to Otis and Lueather DeVaughn on August 12, 1926 in Wilcox County, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lueather Devaughn; husband, John Heart and son, Henry Lee Devaughn, Sr.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late John Heart. Four children were born to this union: Larry, Sr., Gwendolyn, Shenan and John Stanley.
She became a Christian at an early age and became a disciple of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for over 50 years. She served faithfully as President of the Missionary Society, Secretary and August Club, Secretary of the HMS Chorus, member of the Senior Choir, served faithfully with the Kitchen Ministry. She kept a music profile of all songs, notes and a record of the soloist. Anytime the doors of Mt. Sinai were opened , Sister Flossie was always there. She worked faithful with all ministries.
She was well-loved by the neighbors in the community. But most of all, she loved her grandchildren; many that she raised as her own. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

When I am gone, release me, let go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourselfto me with tears, be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess, how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me ifyou must, then let your griefbe comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part, so keep the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So ifyou need me, call, and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And ifyou listen with your heart, you'll hear all ofmy love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way, I'll greet you with a smile, and say,
{(WELCOME HOME. "
l)salm 23
t t The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes
me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the
t still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. t Yea, though I walk
through the valley ofthe shadow ofdeath, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort
me. t You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. t
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house ofthe LORD Forever.
