Graduated 1963 from Pearl High School in Madison, GA. James was known as Hawkeye in his

early days, he had a keen sense of earning money from cutting the neighbors grass for a small fee



and delivery of his Atlanta World Paper on his red bicycle.

James served three tours of duty in Vietnam where he served in Chu Lau, Da Nang and Saigon.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hawkins and sister, Jacquelyn Wooten. He leaves to cherish his mother, Pecola Hawkins, Madison, GA, Sisters, Patricia Hutchins, Atlanta, GA, Eleanor Nasir, Macon, GA, brother, Richard Hawkins, Madison, GA. A host

of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

James worked for Sears for over twenty five years. After retiring from Sears he became owner and operator of James' Trucking, a job that he truly loved on the road with his Big
Rig. He also had his lawn service on the side. James never met a stranger and he was always ready for a good conversation. He will be missed by his family, friends, and

neighbors.
