"Bob" Harvey was born in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia on August 21, 1929 to Mrs. Lizzie Anderson. He was raised in Macon and received his secondary education from Ballard High School. He entered Morris Brown College in Atlanta in 1947. His education at Morris Brown was interrupted by a tour ofduty in the Army. After receiving an honorable discharge he returned to Morris Brown College receiving his Bachelor ofArts degree. While there he pledged Iota Chapter ofAlpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. After Morris Brown, he received his Masters degree from Columbia University. While at Columbia he received several educational grants which afforded him the opportunity to teach and study at Florida State University.
Professionally, Bob taught at Morris Brown College, and in the DeKalb County Public Schools at Hamilton High School and Peachtree High School. After teaching he was employed with West Building Materials in Atlanta. In 1971 he was employed with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as the manager ofCommunity Relations. He was instrumental in the passing o.fthe referendum which provided public funding for bus and ultimately rail services in Atlanta. From 1972 to 1987 Bob was the Manager ofFacilities and Equipment. From 1987 to his retirement in 1990 he served as the Manager ofSupport Services. After retirement, he remained active following Morris Brown Football and serving his great love, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Nick Harvey; daughter-in-law Dr. Kyra Harvey; granddaughter Ms. Dana Harvey; his mother Mrs, Lizzie Anderson; his sister Mrs. Pat Woods, his brother-in-law Mr. Gary Woods; his brother Mr. Otis Anderson, Jr.; his nieces i\lls. Shimeki Woods, Ms. Ashley Davis, Ms. LaShonda Anderson: nephews Mr. A. B. Woods and Mr. Cedric Anderson, and a host offriends. He will be truly .missed.
