"I'll just say yes, You lead the way, I'm not afraid of what it means to say, that this life You gave is not my own, I'm trusting You to hear my yes and lead me on."

I Blee's first block of life began October 12, 1953 in Charlotte, NC at Good Samaritan Hospital. Vernie Lee Bookman, was the first of eight children born to Mr. & Mrs. Steve W. Bookman, Sr. Her journey was completed on Saturday, February 4, 2017, in Decatur, GA. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr.

I Steve W. Bookman, Sr., two brothers: Lorne Levi, Rodney Bookman; and one sister: Mrs. Lesia Doris Bookman Wright. Her next block of life was her academic quest which began while attending

I<irkwood and Wesley Avenue Elementary Schools. She continued her quest at Murphy High School graduating in 1971.

*i Blee's third block of life was when she decided to follow Jesus and join The
* Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church. Blee was baptized by the late Reverend
!t H.F. Shepherd. She was active in Sunday Church School, the choir, and the usher's
f ministry. Blee, rededicated her life back to Christ under our present pastor, Dr. E.
t Dewey Smith, Jr. She was a faithful member of this church for more than fifty

~~ years.
~ Her fourth block of life was marrying Mr. Timothy Harris. She was the mother of

three children: Michael, Temekia, and Michele. Blee had a passion for taking care

of people. She loved taking care of children. She was the potty training queen.

They called her Ma Blee. She volunteered at the elementary school. When she

stepped into a classroom all of the children knew to stand in attention and stop

talking. At the church all the children knew she would discipline them without

their parents' consent.

Blee's block of life will continue through her children: Michael Alexander Harris,

Temekia Harris Rosborough, and Michele Harris Lawrence; Mother: Mrs. Betty

Bookman-Jackson; Grandchildren: Taivon, Sharon, Makia, TaMya, Tracy, Trashun, ~ Trayden, and Matthew; Siblings: Steve (Lois) Bookman, Jr., Eric (Etta) Mahone,
i Otis (Christi) Cleveland, Jr., Bettianne Bookman, Lovell (Ora) Thornton, K.enny

$. (IZaren) Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Jr., Enoch Jackson; special daughter: Demetrius

~ Bailey, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
