On Wednesdt!J, April!, 2014 Addie B. Yancey HaD better known as 'Tat"peaceful!J slippedawt!Y into eternal rest at Hampton Sentara Careplex. She was born in Caswell Counry, NC to the late Albert and Bessie Withers Yancry. Upon completing her ear!J education at Caswell Counry Training SchooL She relocated to Newport News, Virginia where she soon met and married her husband, Richard HalL In this union thry were blessed with one loving son Richard Hall, Jr.
In 1958, her continued Christian walk lead her tojoin First Baptist Church
East End in Newport News, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. Woodrow
Brown, Sr., and faithful!J attended until her health began to faiL She sore!J missed her church fami!J but tru!J ef!Jqyed watching the taped services sent to
her. She was alWC!JS a willing worker and served on the League of Christian
Women Ministry, the Golden Kry Ministry, attended S undt!J School, Bible S tucfy, and was a ticket representative for the annual church banquet.
She was a member of Aberdeen Gardens Historic & Civic Association, Inc. and The Orcutt Seniors Club of Newport News, Virginia. Addie nyqyed
her emplqyment in retailing at Grant's Department Store and Leggett's Department Store in Newport News, Virginia. She received ma'!Y outstanding awards for her customer service during her tenure.
Addie was a caringperson and alWC!JS thinking of others. She loved sending
cards for various occasions, giving school supplies and donations to the youth, visiting the sick, feeding the homeless, sharing her time and food with friends and neighbors.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Richard Hall, loving and devoted son, RichardHall, Jr.; dearestgrandson, SherrodJones (Clintona);
brother-in-law, Russell Hall of Gates, NC.; sister-in-law, Myrtle Rogers {HC!Jward) of Brook!Jn, NY; special cousins, Beulah Seabron and George Gzrynn, Jr.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives.
She also has special extended fami!J members, Marie Saunders, Kathleen Saunders, Clarice Hughes and Henry Drew.
