After several years of declining health, Mr. Joseph Gwynn came to his eternal rest Monday, April23 , 2012, in the peaceful surroundings of his home. Joseph was a devoted family man who centered his life and joy amongst his family and friends.
He was the youngest son of the late James Albert and Alice Jones Gwynn. He was born July 28, 1 43 in Caswell County, NC. Josep_h was a graduate of Caswell County High School, and was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board.
Prior to his retirement he was employed with Burlington Industries
Williamsburg Plant.

Joseph was married to the late Frances Bushnell Gwynn for 34 years. To this union, three children were born.
Joseph was also preceded in death by five sisters, Addie Falden, Annie Cannon, Drew Mims, Fadonia Watlington and Fannie Whittle; three brothers, George Gwynn, John Gwynn and Hurley Gwynn.
Joseph is survived by one son, Mr. Diron Gwynn (Stephanie) of Yanceyville, NC; two daughters, Mrs. Adrienne Calhoun (Wendell ) of High Point, NC, and Ms. Jessica Gwynn of Yanceyville, NC; one brother, Otis Gwynn ( Autrey ) of Pelham, NC; four sisters, Ms. Naomi Smith of Santa Maria, CA, Ms. Evelyn Brown ofRuffin, NC, Ms. Jenny Jackson of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Ruby Bradley (Richard) of Bowie Md; four grandchildren: Kayla Gwynn, Kyle Gwynn, Donovan Calhoun and Yolanda Calhoun; two aunts: Ms. Hallie Willis of Hampton , Va. and Ms. Madie Jones of the Brian Center, Yanceyville, NC ; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; a host of nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
