Obituary
Henry Ford Grissett, Jr. (aka Killer, Bubba, Junior and Fat Man) was born on May 3, 1950 to Henry Ford Grissett, Sr. and Bernice Henry) in Evansville, IN. Henry graduated from North High School in 1968. Henry accepted Christ as his savior at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Evansville, IN where he sang in the choir, served as a faithful member and truly loved the lord. In Evansville, his best male friends are: his brother leonard Grissett (deceased), lionel Gamble, John Pollard, Charles Suggs and larry Fykes. They were inseparable! Henry would tell everybody that his sister Gwen is his best friend. She was by his bedside daily, visited him in Atlanta yearly. He would return to Evansville to take care of Gwen during her surgeries to be next to her bedside. They had unconditional love. Henry was employed in production at Whirlpool Corporation for many years. Once Whirlpool downsized, he then moved to Atlanta, GA and worked as a Transport Technician for Emory Hospital until he retired. While in Atlanta, he was proud to be President of Atlanta Housing Authority Roosevelt House for three terms. He worked closely with the residents, taking them on trip to The White House, Casinos, hosting Formal Affairs and other prestigious events. While in Atlanta, he adopted three sisters whom he loved dearly...Portia, Margie and Gaynell. They were able to have a one day visit with Henry two weeks prior to his passing.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed entertaining, music, d-jaying, cooking, and dancing. He loved his family, making sure he sent birthday, Christmas, and special occasion cards every year. And he truly LOVED the City of Atlanta II His wishes were to one day move back to Evansville and have his 65th Birthday Party. Thanks be to God that he was able to do that. Henry was preceded in death by our loving brother, Minister leonard Grissett. We thank God that they are now together in Heaven. He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters; Gwen Starks, Karen Robinson, Alice Cooper, and Gilda Turner; one brother Bruce Grissett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. As his health began to fail since April 2015, he never said a mumbling word. He always kept the faith and fought a good fight.

Remember Me Remember me when flowers bloom early in the spring Remember me on sunny days in the fun that summer brings Remember me in the fall as you walk through leaves of gold And remember me in the wintertime in the stories that are told But most of all remember Each day, right from the start
I will be forever near For I live within your heart
