Memories of you light the comers of my mind, when I think of my sister, whom we all affectionately called Diane.
As kids, we iov,ed, cherished and adored you. We were so proud to have you as our 'Big Sister'. When mom gave birth to Wyman, you took care of us and made us egg salad. When I was expecting my first child, you were there. When Tarie was born, you absolutely loved that girl.
We talked and laughed together. You had an infectious laugh that stood out above others. Things will not be the same without you. You loved life. Thank you, you loved us so much and was proud of us too. I still have and cherish the voicemail message of you expressing to me your gratitude to God for allowing you to see this New Year. I love you and a sister's bond -can never be broken, not even in death. Your memory will always live in my heari. You are my precious "Big Sister''. /love you forever and ever.

On November 11, 1946 Linda "Diane" Grimes was born in Atlantp, GA to Troy and Frankie Matthews.
She attended Atlanta Public Schools. Diane begin working in the hospitality field where her passion for service was fueled.
Being the oldest of six brothers and sisters Diane learned early on ttle imp'ortance of family. She dedicated her life to serving her siblings,
children, af)d grandchildren. Being raised in the church she g~ve herself unselfishly. She was a backbone to those that were weak and a crutch to those that were- broken. She served her.family with diligence and love. Her enjoyment for cooking often found her with a full house. Not only did they receive nourishment for their bodies, but for their hearts and souJs. She was grateful for life and realiZed .it was a gift from God that should not be squandered. She was a marvelous mother, a phenomenal sister, an avid reader, a woman of integrity and a great friend.
On February 4, 2011 after .a long bout with failing health, she was called
home to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Grimes, her father Troy Matthews, and her oldest daughter Belinda Denise Matthews.
She leaves to 'cherish her memory her mother Frankie Gresham; son Sylvester Grimes Jr.; daughter/son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Nesteshia Harden; brother's and sis~er's Elvie Gresham, Joann (Melvin) Golden, Joel Gresham, Randy Gresham, Renardo (Tracey) Gresham, Wayman (Aaronette) Gresham;. grandchildren Rodregus, Syltpvia, _Tikita, Breyunna, Reginald, Chad, Larren, , Sigourney, Teela, Michael, Takia; great grandchildren Mykal, Rodregus, Jr., Tyson, Cortavius, Chad Jr.; a host of relatives and friends, and a special neighbor.
