. In Celebration of 78 years of living, Betty J Greene, continues life in another
phase. She transitioned from this mortal realm on her own spiritual terms on March 7th, 20~ 2 with her loved ones at her side during the sunset. The sun had risen when Paul and Augusta Smith were blessed with happiness in November 1933 with the birth of their daughter Betty. Years later Betty shared their joys when her brother "Paulie" was born. Betty grew up and soon met her future husband W. Austin Gree.ne. They were wed and the groom's mother Sue "Mama", unconditionally opened her heart and arms as well as her family to welcome its newest family member. From this blessed union she gained seven caring sisters with many aunts and uncles. This union with Austin created two children, Austin and Cheryl. During these early years Betty also developed a friendship that was meant to last forever as it did with Clarissa "Cookie". It was a friendship that was also rooted in love and longevity that merged into extended family. Loving relationships were very important to Betty. So much so that there are many who can recount their 40, 50, 60 years plus of friendship, such as Dorothy "Dottie" as another prominent and endeared friend. Social Security was ahaven for her to gather and merge lives of not only coworkers but included their family and friends. Betty was a unique friendacquiring magnet, which stemmed from her unconditional, loving and giving nature. When Betty retiredfrom her secular job she didn't r~st from her obvious spiritual calling to help others. She was involved with the Innovators Club, Wilson M Morris Community Center, HIICAP and the Allen Pavilion, the 30th Precinct Community Counsel and the Hudson Guild Senior Service. Betty also kept it personal as she cared for the elder friends and their private needs. She gave of herself and not from her excess. Whether young or old, Betty was there attending recitals, shows, exhibits and any other endeavors, showing support and genuine loving individualized care. Needless to say Betty was a giver and she will be forever loved by her grand daughter Nev, her great-grand daughter Hayley along with her nephew/son Cedic as well as every other nieces, nephews, cousin, aunts, uncles, sister(inlaws), brother-in-laws, etc. and all whom is unmentioned. She as Sue loves you all.
Betty's remembrance choice was the "American Cancer Society" (cancer.org)
