Lge Joseph Graves, Sr. was born August 21, 1939, the youngest of three children. His parents, Corean Graves and the late Lge Graves raised their family in Decatur, Georgia. He attended County Lne Elementary and graduated in 1958 from Hamilton High School in Scottsdale, Georgia. Joseph accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very early age at Miller Grove Baptist Church in Lthonia, Georgia.
On January 27, 1961, he married his sweetheart, the late Marie ''Marion" Graves. Their incredible love for one another was expressed in the births of their eight children.
To his numerous friends and family members, he was known as ''Tub" or ''Joe". His favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, enjoying his wife, children and grandchildren. His love and respect of people has been expressed in the many former coworkers that still regularly visit even after being retired more than 25 years.
He believed that his beautiful wife worked hard enough creating a loving home for their family so he ensured to develop a great work ethic in his sons. Joseph worked fifteen years at Alcan Cable Company and thirty-five years with DeKalb County School System as well as many years working for Executive Park. Joseph mastered almost everything and anything. He was able to either repair or create. He leaves his family a great hospitality legacy and his passion for music.
On September 21, 2014. Joseph departed his life to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his wife Marion Graves, his son, Timothy Graves and his sister, Helen Moss.

We are never quite prepared to face life's darkest hours alone. At such a time, the thoughtful expressions of friends like you, who have been gracious, compassionate and charitable make the dawn come quicker,
the burden seem lighter and the cross seem more like a crown. Our family would like to express our gratitude for your support, flowers, cards, calls, emails, text, and social media, and prayers. Knowing that you care makes this time of bereavement easier to bear. It is our earnest and sincere prayers that all of god's blessings are bestowed upon you in abundance. We thank you for all the loving
kindness you have shown to us. The Graves Family
