OBITUARY
MR. JOE GOLDEN, son of Mose and Susie Green Golden, was hom January 13, 1918 in Russell County, Alabama. There he attended public schools and grew to young manhood. He professed a hope in Christ at the age of eighteen years and was baptized in the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.
In 1942 he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he resided and made his home for over forty-five years, uniting with the Tabemacle Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, he served his country with distinction during World War II, having attained the rank ofTEC 5. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
On August 14, 1944 he was united in holy matrimony to Sadie Lee Holloway and together they shared over forty-three years of marital happiness. This union was blessed with two daughters, Barbara and Erma.
MR. GOLDEN retired in 1971 after many years of service with F. A. Wilhelm Construction Company, Inc. He was a member of the Hod Carriers Local Union #120. He formerly was employed by the Guepel DeMars Construction Company and Kingans Meat Packing Company where he was a former member ofthe Meatcutters Union.
A loving and devoted husband, father, grandparent and brother, his warm smile and pleasant personality endeared him to all.
MR. JOE GOLDEN departed this life October 15, 1987 1987 at the age of sixty-nine years, nine months and three days and leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Sadie Lee Golden; two daughters, Barbara Jean Golden of Indianapolis and Erma J. Daniel of Decatur, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tanya, Debbie, Derrick, Darren, Tracey, Dana and Dion; five great grandchildren, Michael, Mykia, Tiera, Derrica and Angela; two sisters, Louise Golden and Ossie Lee Johnson both of Phoenix City, Alabama; son-in-law, Emmitt Daniel of Decatur, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, Tabemacle Missionary Baptist Church family and friends.
WE LOVED HIM BUT GOD LOVED HIM BEST
A precious one from us has gone, A noise we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled.
