And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.

Robert James Givens, departed this life on December 4, 1995, at his residence. He was born to the late Mannie Givens Sr. and Morley Louis Givens on August 12, 1944 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Robert accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Rev. W.M . Pitcher at Greater Risen Sun Baptist Church. After returning to Baton Rouge in May of this year, he joined True Light Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Adult Usher Ministry.
Robert was employed at Owens Brockway Bottling Company in A tlanta, Georgia for twenty years, until his retirement in 1993.
He leaves to f?herish his memory, his former wife, Deloris Douglas Givens, a daughter, Colette D. Givens of Atlanta Georgia; one brother; William Anderson of New Orleans, La.; four sisters, Beulah G. Stokes, Mattie G. Wells, Dorothy G. Sanford and Alice G. McKnight, all of Baton Rouge; four aunts, Rosa Augustus, Beulah Hollins, Mary Banks and Lena Robinson, all of Baton Rouge; one uncle, Nelson Louis of Baton Rouge; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one
brother, Mannie Givens Jr., two sisters Lurena G.
Marcelle and Ruth Scott.
