OBITUARY
Mary Lillian Potts Gilmore was born July 5, 1943 in West Point, Ga. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins (Gennie) Potts.
After moving to Atlanta at a very young age Mary along with her family joined First Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, then located on Simpson Road. She served Christ here until the early 1980's after which she joined Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, Rev. R.L. White, Pastor.
Mary was employed at TIG Hitco Inc. f0r over 20 years. She served as Union Chief Steward. Mary was also president of Seagrams Social Clue.
Mary will always be rememeered as an out~ going, friendly, warm hearted and direct individual. There was never a time she would not lend a helping ~and to anyone in need. Mary mothered everyone she came in contact with, she was the family leader.
Mary, who was known to close friends and relatives as "Lillian," was a survivor. A few years after her divorce she could no longer work due to a job related injury, but her spirits remained high as always~
Mary was a proud woman, but most of all she was proud of her three children and . four grandchildren.
This is not a time for us to be sad, but to be happy for someone we all loved so much has gone home to be with our Father, Jesus Christ.
Survivors are children, Mr. & Mrs. Malcolm (Veronica) Dixon, Carlene Potts, & Kenneth Slade; step-children, Gladys Carter & Calvin Slade Jr.; grandchildren, Kia & Najia Dixon, Travis Thornton & Ted Carter; sisters, Mr. & Mrs. John (Ruthie) Walton, Mr. & Mrs. Homer (Annie) Lee, Mrs~ Jennell -~ Grant, Mrs. Willie Pearl Daniels; brothers, William & Robert Potts; aunts, Fannie Trammel, Mrs. Mazel Jackson, Mrs. Beatrice Morgan, Mrs. Mary Ethel Potts, a host
